The Vietnam Meteorological and Hydrological Administration has been calculating and using flood, flash flood and landslide maps to serve the natural disasters prevention. However, to be able to calculate in detail, it is necessary to have auxiliary maps such as topographic map, land cover map, land use map, detailed administrative layer map in these areas.

Therefore, at the request of Vietnam Meteorological and Hydrological Administration, the Department of Survey, Mapping and Geographic Information will provide digital topographic model maps (in raster format) with full information fields, component data classes; maps of traffic administration classes, water systems, reservoirs ... with full field of information and data.

Similarly, the Department of National Remote Sensing provides raster vegetation cover maps with complete information fields and component data layers; land use maps in raster format at the scale of 1:50,000, 1:10,000, with complete information fields, component data layers; digital file format Arcgis or Mapinfo.

The Institute of Geosciences and Minerals provides detailed map data in the framework of the project "Investigation, assessment and zoning of warning of landslide risks in mountainous areas of Viet Nam" serving warning of natural disaster of flash flood and landslide, including: digital maps on the zoning of landslide risk of 15 provinces of Lai Chau, Son La, Dien Bien, Hoa Binh, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An).

Along with that, the Institute of Geosciences and Minerals will also provide digital maps of the current state of landslides in 17 provinces, including: Lai Chau, Son La, Dien Bien, Hoa Binh, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh.
