At a working session with CT Group on the afternoon of March 17, Standing Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Trinh Viet Hung affirmed the commendable capabilities and positive momentum of Vietnamese enterprises in gradually mastering strategic high technologies.

The Standing Deputy Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is ready to commission products aligned with CT Group’s strengths in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation, to directly support the sector’s development tasks.
Accordingly, areas of cooperation must closely follow the key mandates assigned to the agriculture and environment sector, particularly those stemming from the Central Steering Committee for Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, as well as the Ministry’s ongoing priority programs and projects.
"In the immediate term, several areas proposed by CT Group are well aligned, such as agricultural robotics and the application of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in cultivation and production. The use of UAVs to replace human labor in certain stages will help improve harvesting efficiency and optimize labor productivity," the Standing Deputy Minister noted.

In addition, a key focus highlighted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is the development of 12 major sectoral databases. These include data on climate, land, and minerals, which, if effectively connected, shared, and utilized, will provide a critical foundation for management and governance. The Ministry also expressed an urgent need to establish a carbon credit exchange.
Speaking on CT Group’s areas of expertise, Chairman Tran Kim Chung noted that the company has three main technological pillars that create a strong competitive edge. The first is digital technology, centered on a Digital Twin platform, which enables the simulation and operation of “digital entities” representing real-world objects.

In addition, the low-altitude economy, where UAVs serve as a new governance infrastructure enables highly accurate monitoring and management of production while reducing labor needs. The third pillar is biotechnology, including gene editing and precision agriculture, aimed at developing crop varieties that are more resilient to climate change and adverse conditions.
“We are committed to working with the Ministry to effectively implement two ‘unmanned model field’ projects in the Mekong Delta and the northern region. At the same time, we propose collaborating with the Ministry to develop two provincial-level models for the low-altitude economy on digital platforms, as well as piloting a multi-layer National Digital Twin in the agriculture and environment sector,” said Mr. Tran Kim Chung.
Technology commissioning aligned with sector priorities
Standing Deputy Minister Trinh Viet Hung highly appreciated the proposed "unmanned model field" initiative and the ecosystem that integrates UAVs, artificial intelligence, automation, and digital data for modern, low-emission agricultural production.
According to him, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment prioritizes applied scientific products that can be put into practical use. Potential areas such as the low-altitude economy should be developed in a balanced manner, ensuring alignment between technological advancement, economic efficiency, and civil security.

On behalf of the Ministry’s leadership, Standing Deputy Minister Trinh Viet Hung also called for more in-depth working sessions between the Ministry’s functional units and CT Group’s member companies to concretize areas of cooperation and accelerate practical implementation.
At the session, Deputy Minister Hoang Trung emphasized that cooperation proposals must align with the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW, ensuring that scientific and technological products have commercial potential.
To operationalize the collaboration, Deputy Minister Hoang Trung proposed assigning the Department of Science and Technology to lead the development of a Ministry-level cooperation program with CT Group, clearly identifying the list of technologies. Specialized units are required to proactively propose their needs, register science and technology tasks with the Ministry, and coordinate in organizing in-depth working sessions with the company in specific fields.

From the business side, the Deputy Minister requested CT Group to report to the Ministry for submission to the Central Steering Committee on implementation resources, while continuing to study and refine strategic technology solutions to help achieve the goals of Resolution 57 and drive national growth.
According to Deputy Minister Hoang Trung, several technologies such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs), and digital twin ecosystems linked to market value chains can be immediately applied in practice. Meanwhile, gene-editing technology is considered particularly essential for climate-resilient agriculture.
Director General of the Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Van Long proposed that relevant units develop science and technology programs incorporating cooperation with CT Group, ensuring alignment with central orientations and clearly reflecting the spirit of tripartite collaboration among the state, enterprises, and scientists.
He also noted that the sector’s 12 major databases are being developed in an interconnected and synchronized manner. Therefore, CT Group is encouraged to work directly with the departments and units responsible for data to align approaches and foster a mindset of connectivity and data sharing from the outset.
