On March 26, Giai Xuan commune inked a pineapple production and offtake deal with Doveco, targeting 300 hectares of new planting areas in 2026.
Attending the signing ceremony, representing Doveco were Mr. Dinh Cao Khue, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director; Mr. Pham Ngoc Thanh, Deputy General Director, along with other relevant members.
On the side of the Giai Xuan Commune People's Committee (Nghe An province), the delegation was led by Mr. Bui Duc Hong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Commune People's Committee. He was accompanied by Mr. Vu Ngoc Son, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee and Director of the Public Service Supply Center, along with other leaders and relevant professional officials. The specific unit directly participating in this cooperative activity on behalf of the commune is the Public Service Supply Center.

At the working session, the two parties signed a contract linking the production and offtake of raw pineapples for the 2026-2030 period, establishing a crucial foundation to build a sustainable linkage chain from production to product consumption. Accordingly, the pineapple production area agreed upon for 2026 between Doveco and Giai Xuan Commune is 300 hectares.
The signing not only contributes to stabilizing the offtake for the locality's pineapple products but also enhances production value, increases incomes for locals and promotes agricultural economic development in a sustainable and effective manner.
Immediately following the signing ceremony, the delegation visited the pineapple farming model, conducted a field survey of Doveco's raw material zone in Ninh Binh, and discussed production and care processes, as well as the orientation for expanding the planting area in Giai Xuan in the coming time.
Consequently, the two sides agreed to continue close coordination, providing technical support and product offtake guarantees to elevate pineapple quality and output to meet market demands.
This is a vital step in strengthening cooperation between the local government and enterprises, paving the way for the long-term development of the pineapple raw material zone in Giai Xuan commune in the foreseeable future.

Giai Xuan is one of the seven remaining communes of the former Tan Ky district following administrative reorganization. It is a semi-mountainous region bordering Tien Dong, Tan Phu, Muong Chong and Minh Hop communes... featuring the vast, expansive lands in the Northwest of Nghe An with deep topsoil layers.
After the merger, Giai Xuan commune has a total natural area of 12,155 hectares, of which over 10.8 thousand hectares are agricultural land. The entire commune has 3,311 households with over 14,000 residents. More than 70% of the population are ethnic minorities and the poverty and near-poverty rate remains over 28%.

Within Nghe An province's target of planting 3,000 hectares of pineapples over two years, Giai Xuan commune alone can accommodate over 2,000 hectares. For a long time, the commune's crop structure has focused on several main crops such as sugarcane (over 1,863 hectares, yielding 60 tons/ha), cassava (260 hectares), corn (545 hectares) and acacia (1,294 hectares). Although the land is assessed as porous, gently sloping and nutrient-rich, the aforementioned crops have not yet brought high economic efficiency to the residents.
Therefore, the Resolution of the 1st Party Congress of Giai Xuan Commune for the 2025-2030 term determined: Restructuring crops towards sustainability, intensive farming to increase productivity, and maximizing income per area unit are the breakthrough stages to accelerate socio-economic development in the locality.
After the Party Committee issued the Resolution, the Giai Xuan Commune People's Committee promulgated a pineapple planting plan for 2026 with a minimum scale of 300 hectares. Within just one month, 128 households registered, totaling an area of 154 hectares.
