Khanh Hoa province promotes green transition, the circular economy and innovative communication to effectively respond to climate change.
On June 1, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment issued Document No. 7669/SNNMT-CCKSBVMT on the organization of activities to mark World Environment Day (June 5) and the Action Month for the Environment in 2026.

This meaningful event is associated with the theme "A Global Call for Climate Action" launched by the United Nations Environment Programme. In the context of escalating extreme weather events, sea-level rise, and natural disasters, promoting the green transition and enhancing the resilience of ecosystems and communities is an urgent requirement. This is also a practical step toward achieving Vietnam's sustainable development goals and its net-zero emissions commitment by 2050.
To achieve the above goals, the effectiveness of state management will be enhanced by accelerating administrative procedure reform and digital transformation in environmental protection.
Therefore, the Department of Agriculture and Environment requests agencies, units, and localities to review, reduce, and simplify business conditions. This facilitates citizens and businesses to jointly participate in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and developing a green economy.
Concurrently, focus will be placed on promoting the application of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and big data in environmental monitoring and climate data governance. Enhancing the provision of online public services, open data and digital platforms will timely serve natural disaster warnings and greenhouse gas emission management, aiming to improve service quality for citizens and businesses.

Alongside administrative reform, according to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, Deputy Director of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, green development and circular economy models will be strongly promoted in Khanh Hoa. This aims to encourage businesses, cooperatives and the private sector to invest in and deploy models for greenhouse gas emission reduction, marine conservation, ecosystem restoration, ocean plastic waste reduction and sustainable livelihood development for coastal communities. It also promotes public-private partnership (PPP) initiatives, green businesses, green startups and green innovation.
Simultaneously, the province is tightening control over the collection, sorting, transportation, and treatment of domestic solid waste as well as coastal and island plastic waste to ensure sustainable livelihoods for the community.
Information and communication on climate action are also being strongly innovated toward a multi-platform, digitalized and highly interactive approach. The locality encourages media agencies, digital platforms and influencers to join in spreading easily understandable and accessible messages to change community awareness and behavior.

Also according to Ms. Lan, from now until the end of June, practical responding activities will be organized synchronously, from hanging visual banners and billboards in public areas to launching environmental cleanup campaigns, planting trees and collecting plastic waste. Digital communication campaigns on popular social networks will also be widely deployed, accompanied by community hashtags, green action challenges and creative media initiatives to spread messages about climate action, plastic waste reduction and environmental protection.
