The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has extended the application deadline for the 2026 ASEAN Eco-Schools Viet Nam Awards to December 10.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has issued Notice No. 12398/BNNMT-HTQT announcing an extension of the application period for the 2026 ASEAN Eco-Schools Award. Under the notice, the registration and application deadline, originally set for October 31, 2026, has been extended to December 10, 2026.

The extension is intended to give educational institutions more time to prepare and complete their applications, while ensuring a smooth registration and submission process. It will also help schools become more familiar with and make effective use of the online system as the Organising Committee continues to upgrade its technical infrastructure and improve the functionality of the Award's online portal.

The ASEAN Eco-Schools Viet Nam Award's online portal, available at https://ecoschool.vn, will officially begin operating on Monday, November 2, 2026. Educational institutions nationwide can register and submit their applications entirely online through this platform.

The Organising Committee encourages schools to visit the portal, familiarise themselves with the guidelines, complete the registration process and prepare all required documents to ensure their applications are submitted before the deadline. The online system is expected to make the application process more convenient, streamlined and efficient.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has also asked provincial and municipal Departments of Education and Training, as well as relevant agencies and organisations, to widely communicate the deadline extension to educational institutions under their management. These units are encouraged to support schools and create favourable conditions for them to continue preparing, completing and submitting their applications.

The regulations on eligibility, assessment criteria, required documents and selection procedures remain unchanged and will continue to follow Decision No. 01/QD-BTC dated August 18, 2026, issued by the Organising Committee of the 2026 ASEAN Eco-Schools Awards in Viet Nam.

Teachers and schools can access the 2026 ASEAN Eco-Schools Award regulations and assessment criteria here.

Primary, lower secondary and upper secondary schools nationwide are eligible to apply for the 2026 ASEAN Eco-Schools Award. For schools offering multiple education levels, the application must clearly specify the level for which they are entering the competition. Each school may submit only one application, which must cover all three themes while identifying the theme that best reflects its strengths.

The application must include a general registration form of no more than 2,000 words, in PDF format and certified by the school. Supporting documents for each theme must be organised into separate folders and include plans, internal regulations or commitments in PDF format.

Evidence of activities, education, outcomes and outreach, as well as community engagement, must include no more than 10 actual photographs for each category. Each photograph must have a clear caption, be compiled into a Word document and saved in DOC or PDF format. Photographic evidence must be in colour and in JPG, PNG, HEIC or TIF format, with a resolution of at least 72 dpi. The Organising Committee requires that photographs must not be cropped, generated using AI or edited in ways that distort the actual situation.
