Vietnam has secured its place on the global agricultural map by becoming one of the world’s 10 largest exporters of passion fruit.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, around 70–80% of Vietnam’s fresh passion fruit and processed products are shipped to more than 20 countries and territories.

Over the past five years, the country’s passion fruit output and export turnover have surged by 300%, making it one of Vietnam’s most valuable fruit exports. In 2024 alone, export revenues reached $172 million.

Agricultural experts say passion fruit is poised to soon join Vietnam’s group of billion-dollar fruit exports. Global demand is particularly strong for the purple variety sold as fresh fruit. At the same time, processed products such as juice and syrup are also gaining ground in international markets, providing farmers with stable and sustainable incomes.
