That is the theme of the painting contest recently launched by the Department of Water Resources Management in coordination with UNICEF. This is a meaningful activity aimed at the younger generation, inspiring love and responsibility toward the most precious resource of life.
The contest targets Vietnamese children aged 6 to 15 nationwide, encouraging them to creatively express ideas about saving water, using clean water, and protecting rivers, streams, and lakes-the sources of life. Through their innocent drawings, the organizers hope to spread positive messages about environmental protection and to form habits of safe and efficient water use within the community.
According to representatives of the Department of Water Resources Management, the contest is not only an artistic playground but also an educational opportunity to help children understand that “every drop of water is a green seed of life”.
The contest serves as an educational opportunity to help children understand that “every drop of water is a green seed of life”.In the context of water resources increasingly under pressure from climate change, rapid population growth, and water pollution, raising public awareness, especially among the younger generation, has become an urgent task. Entries should closely follow the theme and can be expressed through familiar images such as saving water in daily life, applying green technologies in agriculture, collecting rainwater, recycling water, or community activities like tree planting and cleaning rivers to protect water sources.
The contest is organized online. Contestants only need to draw on A3 paper using any coloring materials they prefer, pencils, crayons, pastels, oil paints, watercolors, markers, or others.
Each individual may submit up to two paintings accompanied by a description of the idea and message of their work. For schools, Children’s Houses, Youth Centers, and Art Clubs with large numbers of participants, submissions can be sent collectively.
Contestants must fill in full personal information as required. The Organizing Committee will award one First Prize (2 million VND), two Second Prizes (1.5 million VND each), and three Third Prizes (1 million VND each). In addition, collective prizes will be given to schools or organizations with the highest number of participants.
