Ho Chi Minh City selects “Green Enterprises”

The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just approved the Regulation on selecting and awarding the title “Ho Chi Minh City Green Enterprise.”

The title “Ho Chi Minh City Green Enterprise” aims to honor, certify, and encourage enterprises that comply well with environmental protection regulations during production and business activities; promote green production; conduct research and produce environmentally friendly products; and enhance corporate responsibility for environmental protection, toward sustainable development and green growth. It also supports enterprises in promoting their brand, improving competitiveness, and integrating into the international economy. 

Enterprises applying for the “Ho Chi Minh City Green Enterprise” title must comply well with environmental protection regulations during production and business activities.

The selection process must ensure transparency, fairness, objectivity, honesty, and accuracy, without discrimination. Evaluation criteria must be verified within the prescribed time. Eligible participants include domestic enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises with legal status in Vietnam, engaged in production and business activities with their headquarters or legally registered branches in Ho Chi Minh City.

As for the principles of selection: participating enterprises must have been operating continuously for at least 12 months up to the time of application (for new enterprises). Applicants must meet the following conditions: comply well with environmental protection laws; fulfill obligations to the State (taxes, insurance); and achieve or exceed revenue and profit compared to the previous year or the planned target.

 Enterprises must have complied fully with production and business regulations under the law for three years prior to application; voluntarily register for the selection process; and commit to maintaining environmental standards throughout the validity of the title.

 The “Ho Chi Minh City Green Enterprise” title aims to honor, certify, and encourage enterprises that comply well with environmental protection regulations during production and business activities.
