Both sides agreed that since the first consultation session held in Viet Nam, maritime cooperation between the two countries has seen many positive developments and achieved notable results across various fields.

Key areas of cooperation include naval coordination, the signing of cooperation documents, shipbuilding industry development, marine scientific research within the framework of the Viet Nam-Russia Tropical Centre for Marine Resources and Environment, as well as marine ecosystem conservation and restoration, maritime services, and marine transportation.

The two sides also recognized human resource training as a continuing highlight of bilateral cooperation, particularly in naval officer training.

Building on these achievements, the Viet Nam Ministry of National Defence and the Russian Maritime Board agreed to continue coordinating the effective implementation of previously agreed cooperation contents, focusing on carrying out signed agreements, strengthening naval cooperation, expanding marine scientific research, and enhancing maritime training and transportation cooperation.

On this occasion, the two sides signed and exchanged the Cooperation Plan in the Maritime Sector between the Ministry of National Defence of Viet Nam and the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation for the 2026-2030 period.
