It also called on the Hoa Chau Ward People’s Committee to proactively conduct disaster risk assessments across all 14 residential groups, using the forms and tools practiced during the training and ensuring broad participation by local residents.
Priority disaster risk reduction measures are to be incorporated into the ward’s socio-economic development plan and annual disaster response plans. These measures include small-scale structural works and non-structural solutions, such as upgrading the public address system and equipping local rapid-response teams.
The project “Strengthening the resilience and climate change adaptation of central Viet Nam’s urban areas” is being implemented in Hoa Chau Ward over four years in two phases. The first phase ran from May to September 2026, while the second is scheduled to run from the fourth quarter of 2026 to September 2029.
