The project aims to help ethnic minority women strengthen their agricultural processing skills, develop climate-resilient livelihoods, and improve their incomes.
On the morning of July 16, the Plan Project Management Unit under the Quang Tri Department of Agriculture and Environment, in collaboration with Plan International in Quang Tri, handed over machinery and equipment to agricultural procurement and processing groups in Dan Hoa Commune.
The activity is part of the "Climate-Resilient Agricultural Livelihood Support to Enhance Women's Empowerment in Disadvantaged Communes" project, funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), according to Quang Tri Newspaper.
In 2026, the project established four agricultural procurement and processing groups in Truong Son and Dan Hoa communes. Each group consists of 10 local women. The initiative seeks to strengthen the role of ethnic minority women in local economic development while creating a value chain linking agricultural procurement, processing, and marketing.

Photo: Vo Dung.To help the groups operate effectively, the project has provided a wide range of production and processing equipment, including agricultural dryers, peanut and sesame oil presses, oil filtration machines, flour mills, vacuum sealers, freezers, refrigerators, stainless steel worktables, display shelves, and herbal processing toolkits. The average value of the equipment provided is nearly VND 150 million for each group.
In addition to providing equipment, the project has organized training courses to strengthen members' management and business skills. The training covers production planning, teamwork, product promotion, participation in trade fairs, and market linkages. These activities are expected to help the groups make effective use of the equipment and gradually develop professional, sustainable production models.
According to the Project Management Unit, combining equipment support with skills training will help improve productivity, enhance product quality, and increase the value of local agricultural products. The initiative is also expected to create stable employment opportunities, improve incomes, and strengthen climate resilience for women in ethnic minority communities.
Through this model, the project aims to encourage women to play a more active role in household economic development while laying the foundation for cooperative groups engaged in agricultural production and processing. In the long term, the initiative is expected to contribute to sustainable livelihood development in mountainous areas.
