From October 9-15, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Vietnam and a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment participated in a series of activities at the IUCN World Conservation Congress (WCC) 2025.

At the IUCN World Conservation Congress (WCC) 2025, the Vietnamese delegation also actively participated in discussion sessions, seminars, exhibitions and regional forums with the theme "Agriculture and Biodiversity" - discussing the relationship between agricultural productivity and biodiversity conservation. At the same time, they participated in voting and contributed opinions on important resolutions related to forest conservation, environmental crime prevention, integration of "One Health" into conservation policies and reduction of fossil fuel emissions.

The IUCN 2025 World Conservation Congress (WCC) is the largest forum on nature conservation globally.

Representatives of the Nature and Biolodiversity Conservation Agency updated the implementation of OECMs (Other Effective Conservation Measures) in Vietnam, presented activities to promote conservation at the local level, and nature-based solutions (NbS). Representatives of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Agriculture and Environment shared Vietnam's policy and legal roadmap in promoting sustainable agriculture; agriculture and biodiversity in the general landscape. The International Cooperation Department contributed its voice in the discussion session on the France-IUCN Partnership, helping Vietnam move from ideas to actions in applying NbS in agriculture.

After the Congress, Vietnam will continue to transform commitments and recommendations into concrete actions, promote cooperation networks, policy reforms and integrated planning between agricultural production and nature conservation.
