Promote exports and expand markets for Vietnamese agricultural products

To achieve the export growth target of over 12% in 2025, contributing to the economic growth target of 8.3 - 8.5% in 2025 and double digits in the following years, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just issued Directive No. 29/CT-TTg on implementing key tasks and solutions to promote exports and develop foreign markets.

In this Directive, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies: Promote the production of materials for agricultural production such as plant varieties, livestock, fertilizers, pesticides, animal feed to be self-sufficient in domestic sources, contributing to harmonizing the trade balance with major countries and partners; promote research and development of new varieties, application of biotechnology to create different values ​​for agricultural products. Improve the quality of Vietnamese agricultural products, clear geographical indications, production of low-carbon products;

In addition to promoting the production of materials for agricultural production, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment also needs to carry out negotiations to open the market; coordinate with industry associations and businesses to focus on closely linking raw material areas, promoting preservation and processing, especially deep processing to increase export added value;

Along with that, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment focuses on compiling and publishing documents and handbooks on regulations related to technical standards, food safety, SPS, and market regulations related to agricultural, forestry, and fishery products exported to the following markets: China, the European Union, the United States, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia, and New Zealand, with special attention to improving the quality of exported products.

According to the Directive, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to promote the signing of new FTAs ​​and implement large-scale trade promotion programs; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to promote political and diplomatic measures to support businesses to promote exports, investment, and effective business in foreign markets...

The Prime Minister assigned industry associations to step up market information work for members to enhance their proactiveness and prevent risks when the market fluctuates; inform members about modern management models, the importance of improving product designs and diversity, improving quality, building brands in the international market, etc.

Import-export enterprises organize flexible and effective production and business plans; promptly propose and recommend to competent authorities on difficulties and problems; focus on investing in machinery and equipment, applying scientific and technological advances, etc.; promote official export activities associated with building product brands, focusing on developing niche markets to diversify export markets and diversify supply chains.
