The criteria for evaluating the results of achieving the objectives and tasks of marine and island environmental pollution control include: state management capacity in marine and island environmental pollution control; marine and island environmental quality protection; and marine and island ecosystem protection.

Specifically, the state management capacity criteria for marine and island environmental pollution control consist of six indicators: The percentage of supermarkets, shopping centers, and hotels that have regulations, commitments, and plans to reduce the use of single-use plastic products and non-biodegradable plastic bags; The percentage of automated and continuous water quality monitoring stations that have been invested in and are operating in marine and island areas; The percentage of coastal industrial zones, production facilities, and service providers that have installed automated and continuous wastewater monitoring systems transmitting data directly to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment as per legal regulations; The percentage of budget allocation for marine and island environmental protection activities; The percentage of resolved complaints and feedback about marine and island environmental pollution through hotlines; The percentage of awareness-raising campaigns, education, and legal dissemination activities concerning marine and island ecological protection.

In addition, the criteria for marine and island environmental quality protection consist of ten indicators, and the requirements for marine and island ecosystem protection include seven indicators.

The level of public satisfaction with the quality of marine and island environments is evaluated based on criteria such as seawater quality, the condition of coastal ecosystems, and public participation in marine and island environmental protection activities.
