This is the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and the Viet Nam Department of Geology and Minerals (VDGM).

On April 23, the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and the Viet Nam Department of Geology and Minerals (VDGM) - under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, signed an MoU, marking a new step in bilateral cooperation in geology and mineral resources.

The MoU signals a new phase of deeper cooperation, focusing on geological data management and mineral exploration. It brings together the Netherlands’ technical expertise and experience with Viet Nam’s resource potential. The agreement also advances commitments on critical minerals cooperation made by the two governments in November 2023, helping translate strategic priorities into concrete action.

The cooperation program is financially supported by the Dutch government through the Netherlands Materials Observatory (NMO). It is part of the Netherlands’ commitment to supporting Viet Nam in building a sustainable, transparent, and resilient critical minerals supply chain.

As demand for essential minerals for energy transition and industrial development continues to rise, stronger international cooperation in geology and minerals is increasingly important. The agreement between TNO and VDGM is expected to enhance Viet Nam’s technical capacity and promote efficient, responsible, and sustainable resource management and exploitation in the long term.
