Vietnam actively participates in the Nevsky International Ecological Congress 2025

From May 21 to 23, a Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) delegation led by Vice Chairman Le Minh Hoan attended the 11th Nevsky International Ecological Congress in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation.

Under the theme "Planet Earth: Living in Harmony with Nature", the event brought together over 700 delegates from 76 countries and 17 international organizations.

At the opening ceremony, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia, Andrey Yatskin, emphasized that this year's congress focused on "Ecology of the New Reality: Challenges and Opportunities,” with discussion sessions covering topics such as artificial intelligence, circular economy, green growth, and the role of women and youth in ecological development.

The Vietnamese delegation actively contributed to multiple discussion sessions. Notably, Le Thu Ha, Deputy Chief of the National Assembly Office, delivered a presentation on the role of Vietnamese women in environmental protection. Additionally, Trieu The Hung, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Education, shared experiences in environmental education and supporting green entrepreneurship among youth.

On the sidelines of the Congress, Vice Chairman Le Minh Hoan held talks with Andrey Yatskin, reaffirming the commitment to strengthen cooperation between the two parliaments, ensure the successful organization of the 4th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, and promote bilateral relations across various sectors.

Before that, Mr. Le Minh Hoan met with leaders of Saint Petersburg, participated in cultural exchange activities, visited the Ho Chi Minh Space, delivered a speech at the Vietnamese Language and Culture Festival, and laid flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument.

The working trip helped enhance the role of Vietnam's National Assembly in international environmental forums and further deepened the Vietnam–Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
