Viet Nam won the first prize in the world for wildlife protection

Representing Viet Nam, a technology solution named Found has successfully surpassed 82 project groups from 15 countries and won the first prize of Coding to end wildlife trafficking (Zoohackathon 2021).

Previously, at Zoohackathon Viet Nam 2021 (11/2021) with the theme "Coding to end wildlife trafficking", Found was in the Top 3 innovative technology solutions, the most optimal and has been selected to represent Viet Nam in the global competition round.

Within 48 hours of participating in Zoohackathon Viet Nam 2021, the Vietnamese team has completed a technology product called "Found" - an application that helps the community to directly report violations of the law related to relating to online and offline wildlife. The collected data is used for the purpose of surveying and handling violations, supporting authorities and NGOs.

Zoohackathon is a global competition that brings together university students, programmers, software developers, graphic designers, and experts in related fields to develop innovative solutions to deliver solutions against criminals profiting from the wildlife trade through technology. This contest was initiated by the US Department of State in 2016. In 2021, Zoohackathon Viet Nam is jointly organized by CHANGE, WildAid and partners FPT University and Vietseeds Foundation with sponsorship from the US Department of State.
