The Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control in collaboration with the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has just released the mini app named "Vietnam Disaster Prevention" on Zalo platform. This tool is expected to help people across the country be warned about risks in a timely manner, as well as connect to relief and quickly receive support from the local authorities.

Mini app "Vietnam Disaster Prevention" on Zalo will help people receive timely risk warnings, raise awareness, and connect with relief in emergency situations. Moreover, the new app also supports people to update their knowledge through the feature "Learn about natural disasters". Accordingly, all information, images and skills to proactively respond before, during and after each type of disaster are presented in a consistent, scientific and easy to understand manner.

One of the most outstanding features of this mini app is "Connection with relief", helping people receive timely help in emergency situations. People can use this feature to provide contact information, send location with description and photos for timely response by functional forces.

In addition, a list of phone numbers and hotlines will be displayed on the screen so that people can contact local authorities immediately in the "Emergency Contact" feature.

With the feature "Report natural disasters", users can send the authorities the status, potential risks or disaster situation in the living area.

To serve ethnic minorities, the mini app arranges information buttons for ethnic minorities such as Dao, Mong, Thai, and Khmer.

Before that, after nearly 3 years of operation, the official Zalo page of the Steering Committee has attracted more than 311,000 interested people. On average, each year, more than 120 million emergency messages are sent to people in areas affected by natural disasters, contributing to ensuring a transparent and accurate information system to the community.
