Viet Nam’s pavilion at GREEN EXPO 2027 will showcase the country’s cultural identity, green development achievements and opportunities for international cooperation in the fields of environment, science and technology.

At a recent meeting on preparations for Viet Nam’s participation in GREEN EXPO 2027, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Vo Van Hung, head of the Vietnamese organizing committee for the exhibition, acknowledged the initial progress made in consolidating proposals from ministries, sectors and localities, developing criteria for selecting exhibits, and rolling out communications activities.

At the meeting, Mr. Vo Van Hung called on agencies and units to follow the established plan and ensure that preparations meet deadlines while maintaining quality and effectiveness. Viet Nam’s participation should be coordinated across all areas, with clear priorities and a strong focus on presenting the country as one with a rich cultural identity, dynamic development, innovation and a commitment to green growth.

Three content pillars for Viet Nam’s pavilion

Under the deputy minister’s direction, the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center will lead efforts, in coordination with the consulting unit and relevant agencies, to finalize the pavilion’s key message, visual identity and design plan before October 30, 2026.

The message should be concise, memorable and easy to translate into English and Japanese. It must align with the theme of GREEN EXPO 2027 and Viet Nam’s development priorities for the new period. The message, visual identity and spatial design should all follow a coherent concept that presents Viet Nam’s identity in a modern way and highlights the country’s contribution to a greener future.

The pavilion’s content will be organized around three interconnected pillars: The first will highlight Viet Nam’s identity and ecological foundations, including its nature, culture, people and indigenous knowledge; The second will showcase green development achievements and solutions, focusing on ecological agriculture, biodiversity conservation, the circular economy, emissions reduction, science and technology; The third will present aspirations and opportunities for cooperation, featuring models, projects and solutions that can connect partners and be scaled up.

All exhibits must be representative, verified and presented in ways that make them easy for visitors to understand and remember. Priority will be given to models and solutions that have already been implemented and delivered tangible results. The design must also be practical, easy to operate and flexible enough to accommodate different activities, while staying within budget and meeting Japan’s requirements.

The Viet Nam Environment Agency and the Department of Climate Change have been tasked with reviewing and proposing technical content on green transition, the circular economy, emissions reduction, environmental protection and sustainable development. The relevant units must submit their proposed content lists and supporting documents to the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center by October 15, 2026.

Accelerating preparations and securing resources

Regarding funding, the relevant units have been asked to urgently finalize content plans and detailed budget estimates for their assigned tasks. The Department of Planning and Finance will consolidate and review these estimates and coordinate with the Ministry of Finance to ensure adequate resources, while avoiding overlapping tasks and expenditure.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will help develop a cultural and artistic program for Viet Nam’s National Day at the exhibition. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will propose trade promotion activities, business networking opportunities and the selection of representative products for display. The Ministry of Science and Technology will help identify suitable technologies, models and innovative solutions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been asked to advise on whether senior Vietnamese leaders can attend Viet Nam’s National Day, while coordinating diplomatic activities and protocol arrangements. Localities will continue proposing representative products, models and solutions in line with the established selection criteria.

The Agricultural Trade Promotion Center will coordinate the overall preparations, follow up on progress and provide updates. It will clearly identify the lead agency, expected deliverables and deadlines for each task. Throughout October 2026, the center will report weekly to the head of the organizing committee and promptly propose solutions to address emerging issues that could jeopardize the schedule.
