Viet Nam’s seafood exports projected to reach USD 11.2-11.3 billion in 2025

Amid continued volatility in global markets, this result reflects the proactive efforts of enterprises to accelerate shipments ahead of the United States’ anticipated implementation of new seafood import regulations and before the final ruling in the anti-dumping case on shrimp.

As a result, Viet Nam’s total seafood export turnover in the first 11 months of the year exceeded USD 10.5 billion, up 14.6% compared to the same period last year. Of this total, shrimp exports reached USD 4.31 billion, an increase of 21.2%, continuing to be the key growth driver. Pangasius exports surpassed USD 2 billion, up 9%; tuna exports totaled USD 855.7 million; while mollusks, marine fish, and value-added seafood products all maintained double-digit growth rates.

In terms of markets, CPTPP countries accounted for the largest share at 27.2%, posting strong growth of 24.3%. Exports to China–Hong Kong rose by 30.6%, while the EU recorded an increase of 11.9%. Exports to the United States reached USD 1.78 billion, up 8.1%, although growth showed signs of slowing in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Moving into December, exports are expected to decline slightly compared to November due to seasonal factors and more cautious sentiment among enterprises when trading with the United States.

Based on the results of the first 11 months and year-end prospects, VASEP forecasts that Viet Nam’s seafood exports will set a new record in 2025, reaching USD 11.2-11.3 billion, the highest level ever.

Of this total, shrimp exports are projected to exceed USD 4.6 billion, establishing a new record for the sector. Pangasius exports are estimated to surpass USD 2.1 billion, supported by recovering demand in Asia and China, while tuna exports are forecast to exceed USD 900 million, approaching the USD 1 billion milestone.
