The program is designed as the opening activity for the country's largest annual series of environmental events, aiming to spread the message of environmental protection from the central level to coastal communities nationwide.

The event was attended by senior leaders of the Party, the State, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, the Government, and local authorities, including Comrades Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and President of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front; Trinh Viet Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Nguyen Khac Than, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee; Le Thi Thuy, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, and President of the Viet Nam Women's Union; and Bui Quang Huy, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Also in attendance were comrades Ho Quoc Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister; Ha Thi Nga, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President, and Secretary-General of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front; Vo Trong Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee; and Ms. Khamphao Ernthavanh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Viet Nam.

The event was also attended by leaders of ministries, sectors, and central agencies; leaders of provincial and municipal People's Committees; representatives of international organizations, agencies, units, enterprises, socio-political organizations, the armed forces, the press and media, and a large number of people.

Echoing the guidance of General Secretary and President To Lam in his article, “For an Ecological Civilization, a Green Viet Nam, and a Peaceful, Sustainable Ocean,” published on the occasion of World Environment Day (June 5) and World Oceans Day (June 8), which underscores the need to place environmental protection at the center of national development and closely link it with national security and human security, Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai affirmed that this is an urgent task requiring the proactive engagement of all levels, sectors, the business community, every family, and each citizen. She stressed that such collective action is also an important foundation for realizing the country's goal of rapid and sustainable development in the new era.

According to the President of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, every family serves as the foundation for building community awareness and a sustainable green lifestyle across society. At the community level, she called on residential areas to promote the spirit of solidarity and self-governance by regularly organizing environmental sanitation activities, preventing the accumulation of waste and the emergence of illegal dumping sites, and building green, clean, and beautiful streets, neighborhoods, and residential clusters.

The President of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front also emphasized the responsibility of agencies, schools, enterprises, and production facilities for strictly complying with legal regulations on environmental protection, technological innovation, and emissions reduction; maintaining green, clean, and beautiful workplaces; and strengthening communication and education efforts to raise public awareness of environmental protection.

Speaking at the event, on behalf of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung expressed his sincere appreciation to the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front for its proactive coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Nghe An Province, and relevant agencies in organizing this highly meaningful program. He also conveyed his gratitude for the attention and support of international organizations, the business community, and people of all classes in the cause of environmental protection and national development.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the profound significance of the movement "All people join hands to protect the environment for a green, clean, and beautiful Viet Nam," launched by the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front. He expressed the hope that it would evolve beyond a campaign of emulation into a broad-based, enduring, and sustained social movement, becoming a part of the awareness, mindset, lifestyle, and voluntary actions of every citizen, every community, and every enterprise.

At the event, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung called on all levels, sectors, and localities to effectively implement a number of key tasks, including improving institutions and policies, applying scientific and technological advances, expanding environmental protection movements, mobilizing resources, and accelerating the sustainable development of the marine economy.

Speaking on behalf of the local authorities, Mr. Vo Trong Hai, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, said that the province is facing increasingly evident impacts of climate change, including droughts, floods, and saltwater intrusion, forcing the locality to shift its development model toward a greener and more environmentally friendly path.

According to the provincial leader, Nghe An has implemented a wide range of measures in recent years to improve environmental quality, focusing on strengthening waste collection and treatment in industrial parks, urban areas, and craft villages. This remains one of the major challenges for localities experiencing rapid urbanization and industrial development.

Following the remarks, Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and President of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front; Comrade Ho Quoc Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister; Comrade Trinh Viet Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Comrade Ha Thi Nga, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front; Comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee; and Comrade Le Khac Hiep, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vingroup, jointly performed the formality to launch the movement "All people join hands to protect the environment for a green, clean, and beautiful Viet Nam."

The ceremony not only marked the official launch of the movement "All people join hands to protect the environment for a green, clean, and beautiful Viet Nam" but also demonstrated the determination of all levels, sectors, the business community, and people to join hands in protecting the environment, preserving natural resources, conserving the nation's seas and islands, and building a sustainably developed Viet Nam.

The environment is the foundation of life and a prerequisite for the sustainable development of every nation, every locality, and every community. At a time when climate change, environmental pollution, and the depletion of natural resources are posing increasingly serious challenges, environmental protection is no longer the responsibility of a single sector, field, or locality but a shared responsibility of the entire society. The messages conveyed through today's program reflect a strong determination to build a Viet Nam where economic growth, social progress, and environmental protection advance in harmony.
