MAE officially activates connection and synchronization of the sectoral database with the National Integrated Database.

On April 6 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE) and the Ministry of Public Security, held an event to sign a MoU and to activate the connection and synchronization of the sectoral database with the National Integrated Database.

The event was attended by Mr. Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Politburo and Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Permanent Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Trinh Viet Hung; Deputy Ministers of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa, Vo Van Hung, and Dang Ngoc Diep; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Director General of Vietnam Television Nguyen Thanh Lam; along with leaders of departments from the two ministries and related agencies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo Member and Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang emphasized that the signing and activation of the data connection mark an important milestone in the digital transformation process of the agriculture and environment sector, while also concretizing major policies on science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation.

In particular, as data is recognized as a strategic resource, building a digital data ecosystem has become an inevitable requirement to effectively support the management of a broad-scope sector that directly impacts the livelihoods of tens of millions of people. The synchronization of data with the National Data Center not only opens a new stage of development but also contributes to building modern, transparent governance.

According to Minister Tran Duc Thang, in recent times, the MAE has focused on building a large-scale, multi-sector data platform, gradually removing bottlenecks such as the land database and agricultural product traceability. To date, all 12 core specialized databases have completed connection, been standardized according to the criteria of “accurate, sufficient, clean, live, unified, and shared,” and are ready for official operation.

The implementation process has recorded many notable results. In particular, the "90-day and night cleaning land data Campaign" reviewed more than 62.2 million land parcels, verified 42.5 million parcels with the population database, and cross-checked more than 82,000 fishing vessels.

"The connection and synchronization of data not only improve the effectiveness of state management but also help reduce administrative procedures, improve the quality of online public services, and move towards data-driven governance," the Minister affirmed.

At the same time, the Ministry is deploying an agricultural product traceability system, which was launched in late 2025 and will be implemented nationwide from July 1, 2026.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Director of the National Data Center, stated that in implementing the Government’s policies on promoting data creation and exploitation, as well as simplifying administrative procedures based on data, the Ministry of Public Security has closely coordinated with the MAE to connect and synchronize key information systems.

To date, the two ministries have completed connecting 12 specialized agricultural and environmental databases to the National Data Center. This achievement contributes to improving the effectiveness of state management, supporting the reduction of administrative procedures, advancing online public services, and serving the Government’s direction and administration.

To maximize the effectiveness of the connected systems, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong suggested that the two ministries continue to promote data matching and verification with the National Population Database and the VNeID application, while maintaining regular data updates to ensure real-time synchronization. In addition, it is necessary to continue reviewing and improving technical infrastructure and the roadmap for connecting the remaining systems in 2026.

Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong expressed confidence that data connection and sharing will become a model example, contributing to promoting national digital transformation in a modern, transparent, and efficient direction.

Reaffirming the significance of the event, Minister Tran Duc Thang stated that the data connection demonstrates a strong commitment to promoting national digital transformation, moving towards modern, transparent, and effective governance that better serves people and businesses.

In the coming time, the MAE will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security to finalize the legal framework and technical standards for data connection and sharing; build a nationally connected agricultural product traceability platform; and at the same time ensure cybersecurity and information security.

MOU signed on April 6, 2026, between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Ministry of Public Security aims to promote the connection and synchronization of sectoral data with the National Data Center, serving comprehensive digital transformation.

The two ministries agreed to continue maintaining data connectivity and updating data in real time or periodically, while accelerating the digitization, standardization, enrichment, and cleansing of all remaining data in 2026 and the following years. In addition, the development of an overall data creation process for the agriculture sector database has been identified as a key task, expected to be completed in April 2026.

In the coming time, the two sides will continue to expand the connection of additional information systems and new databases in accordance with Resolution No. 214/NQ-CP, contributing to improving the effectiveness of state management, administrative reform, and promoting socio-economic development in the digital era.
