The discussions centered on policy mechanisms to enhance ICISE's operations and the proposal to host the international "Quy Nhon Dialogue on Climate and Transition".

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Le Cong Thanh expressed strong support for the dialogue. He noted that while developed nations focus heavily on energy transitions and carbon reduction, developing countries like Viet Nam are prioritizing socio-economic transitions to adapt to global changes. Therefore, the dialogue must select a theme that aligns with both domestic realities and international contexts.

Furthermore, Viet Nam's agricultural sector urgently needs scientific and technological advancements to combat climate impacts, such as drought-resistant crop varieties and water-saving technologies. Deputy Minister Le Cong Thanh highlighted that sustainable agricultural development will be Viet Nam's key contribution at the upcoming COP 31 in Turkey this year.

Moving forward, the Ministry of Science and Technology will coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and Gia Lai province to finalize the conference's theme. They plan to invite state leaders, domestic and international scholars, and enterprises. According to Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong, a successful event this year will serve as the foundation to propose an annual conference plan to the Prime Minister.
