Khanh Hoa Province has recently issued decisions approving plans to handle salvaged forest products, aimed at clearing the site for an inter-provincial connection road project.

To facilitate construction of the road project connecting National Highway 27C to Provincial Road DT.656, linking Khanh Hoa Province with Lam Dong Province and Ninh Thuan Province, the Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has issued Decisions No. 981, 982, 984, and 985/QD-UBND. These documents approve plans for handling assets derived from timber harvesting on forest land converted to other uses in Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh districts.

Under the approved plans, the total logging area is nearly 60 hectares. Of this, the Management Board of Hon Ba Nature Reserve will harvest more than 28.37 hectares, while the Cam Lam - Cam Ranh - Khanh Son Protection Forest Management Board will clear 21.98 hectares.

In addition to these two major forest management units, the People’s Committee of Khanh Vinh and Khanh Hoa Forest Products Company Limited will also carry out logging on areas of 6.92 hectares and 1.68 hectares, respectively, to prepare land for construction.

The implementation method involves clearing all trees within the project area and transporting the timber out of the forest to free up land. All harvested forest products, after collection and storage, will be disposed of through public auctions. The provincial authority requires all forest owners to strictly comply with the Law on Management and Use of Public Assets, as well as the latest guiding regulations, including Decree No. 42/2026/ND-CP and Decree No. 186/2025/ND-CP.

Following successful auctions, the proceeds will be used to reimburse previously advanced funds. Any remaining value, after deducting reasonable costs, will be remitted to the state budget in accordance with regulations.

The road project from National Highway 27C to Provincial Road DT.656 is invested by the Khanh Hoa Provincial Management Board for Agricultural and Transport Construction Projects and officially broke ground on March 1, 2024. With a total length of nearly 57 kilometers, the route runs approximately 27 kilometers through Khanh Vinh and nearly 30 kilometers through Khanh Son.

The project is designed to meet Class III mountainous road standards, with a design speed of 60 km/h, reduced to 40 km/h in more challenging terrain sections. The total investment amounts to over VND 1.929 trillion, including VND 1.809 trillion for construction and more than VND 120 billion for compensation, support, and resettlement. Scheduled for implementation from 2023 to 2027, the project is considered strategically important for developing inter-regional transport infrastructure, promoting trade, and boosting socio-economic development in the western mountainous areas of Khanh Hoa Province, while strengthening national defense and security.
