The People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province has approved a new program focused on nature-based forestry and environmental management solutions, climate change adaptation, and community livelihoods. The program is funded by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) with a total budget of over USD 4.6 million (approximately VND 114.8 billion), and is set to run through 2030.

Under the program framework, Quang Tri will implement several key initiatives, including: restoration of priority forest landscapes; sustainable forest management and restoration that integrates landscape connectivity and local livelihoods; nature-based solutions for forest and biodiversity conservation; reducing plastic pollution impacts on the Con Co Marine Protected Area; and a climate-resilient landscape restoration project supporting businesses and community livelihoods.
