Promoting livestock product exports

In recent years, negotiations to open export markets for animals and animal products have achieved notable results.

Processed chicken products have been exported to Japan (2017), Hong Kong (China) (2019), five countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (2020), Mongolia (2023), and Singapore (2025). Pork products have been exported to the markets of Hong Kong (China) and Malaysia.

Poultry eggs have been exported to Singapore, Japan, Taiwan (China), South Korea, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Mongolia, and Australia.

Vietnamese milk and deeply processed dairy products have been exported to more than 40 countries.

For milk and dairy products, Viet Nam signed a protocol on the export of milk and dairy products to China in April 2019. To date, China’s General Administration of Customs has approved 11 Vietnamese factories to export various dairy products to this market. In addition, Vietnamese milk and deeply processed dairy products have been exported to more than 40 countries worldwide.

To date, Viet Nam has successfully negotiated and agreed on food safety standards and export quarantine certificate templates for sterilized meat products to South Korea. Currently, two Vietnamese enterprises are authorized to export products to this market.

Vietnamese honey has been exported to the United States, Europe, Japan, South Korea, and several other markets. The United States is the largest market, accounting for 80% of Viet Nam’s honey export volume, with an average export turnover of 60-70 million USD per year.

The export protocol for clean bird’s nests from Viet Nam to China was signed on November 9, 2022. On April 15, 2025, a new protocol covering both clean and raw bird’s nests was signed, replacing the 2022 protocol. Currently, 13 Vietnamese enterprises have been authorized by China to export these products.

Viet Nam currently has 25 enterprises authorized to export fishmeal and fish oil to China. At present, China is the largest import market for Viet Nam’s fishmeal and fish oil, accounting for 90% of the country’s total exports of these products.

Regarding feather products, 34 Vietnamese enterprises producing feathers are permitted to export to China. China is also the largest market for Viet Nam’s feather exports, accounting for 80% of total feather export volume.

For rice bran products, Viet Nam recently completed negotiations and signed an export protocol to open the Chinese market on April 15, 2025.

Q3/2025: Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries growth continues to brighten

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment reported that, compared to the same period in 2024, the growth rate of value added in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (AFF) in Q3/2025 reached 3.74%, contributing 5.04% to the overall economic growth; for the first nine months of 2025, it reached 3.83%, contributing 5.36% to the total economic value added.

Singapore and Vietnam sign agreement on rice trade

On October 30, on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit held in Gyeongju, South Korea, Vietnam and Singapore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Rice Trade.

Coffee exports hit record high of $8.4 bln

The 2024–2025 crop year of Viet Nam's coffee industry has ended with record export turnover of USD 8.4 billion. Since the beginning of this year, exports have already surpassed USD 7 billion.
