Thanks to practical solutions and notable results in emission reductions, several Vietnamese companies have recently been granted international certifications.

*2 dairy companies achieve carbon neutrality according to international standards

TH Group and Nui Tien Pure Water Company, members of TH Group, have both been certified as carbon-neutral under the PAS 2060:2014 standard. This achievement follows years of voluntary efforts by TH Group to pioneer carbon neutrality in Vietnam. The total emissions offset at TH Dairy Joint Stock Company amounted to over 26.6 million tons of CO2, while Nui Tien Pure Water Company offset 11.6 million tons.

These carbon-neutral data have been validated according to PAS 2060:2014, a technical standard developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI), recognized globally for its standardized, transparent, and credible approach.

To achieve carbon neutrality, both companies implemented various greenhouse gas reduction measures, including energy efficiency improvements, transitioning to green energy, upgrading equipment, and efficient waste management.

TH Dairy Joint Stock Company and Nui TienPure Water Company awarded carbon-neutral certification

In 2023, TH Group’s TH true MILK plant eliminated the use of FO (fossil fuel) boilers, replacing them with biomass-powered boilers. This initiative helped reduce emissions by more than 7,000 tons of CO2 annually. The plant also installed energy-saving LED lights and adopted a series of initiatives to reduce emissions while improving production efficiency.

Nui Tien Pure Water Company also deployed several solutions to reduce plastic use at its factory by eliminating shrink-wrap bottle caps, reducing plastic weight per bottle, and thinning plastic labels. These actions led to a reduction of around 600 tons of plastic annually in production.

Both companies are committed to continuing their carbon-neutral efforts and adhering to the government’s sustainable development and emission reduction directives until 2028.

*Oil refining company receives certifications for renewable energy and emission reduction

Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company (BSR), which operates the Dung Quat Oil Refinery, has recently received two important international certifications for renewable energy and carbon emission reduction: ISCC CORSIA and ISCC EU.

SGS Germany GmbH granted these certifications and covered the blending, production, storage, and commercialization of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from March 31, 2025, to March 30, 2026.

BSR is Vietnam's first and only company to hold these certifications simultaneously.

Certified under ISCC CORSIA and ISCC EU enhances BSR’s reputation, expands its export markets, and strengthens its competitive advantage by meeting green production and low-emission standards.

According to the company’s report, in line with government directives, BSR initiated several significant upgrades in early 2024, including investing in equipment improvements, establishing a management system aligned with ISCC standards, and collaborating with international experts to ensure compliance with stringent evaluation processes.
